Electrical Fitter

My client is seeking a skilled Electrical Fitter in the Melksham area to undertake electrical fitting activities on high voltage switch gear, transformers, and associated equipment.

This role involves installation of control and protection equipment, earthing systems, and outdoor equipment such as bus bars, disconnectors, and switch gear.

You will be responsible for the maintenance and fault finding of both low and high voltage equipment, ensuring all work complies with relevant safety and technical standards.

The successful candidate must be able to interpret and work from high voltage documentation and hold a valid NG Persons certification, which is essential for this role. This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work on critical electrical infrastructure within a dynamic environment.

This is a contract role until June 2025 and is paying up to £300 per day.

• Perform electrical fitting activities on high voltage switch gear, transformers, and related equipment
• Install control and protection equipment and earthing systems
• Install outdoor electrical equipment including bus bars, disconnectors, and switch gear
• Conduct maintenance and fault finding on low and high voltage electrical systems
• Interpret and work from high voltage technical documentation
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards
• Collaborate with site teams to deliver quality and timely electrical services

• Proven experience in electrical fitting on high voltage switch gear and transformers
• Installation of control, protection, and earthing systems
• Maintenance and fault finding on low and high voltage equipment
• Ability to read and interpret high voltage documentation
• Must hold NG Persons certification (mandatory)
• Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and procedures
• Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills
