Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) position requiring at least 1 year of experience, Epic proficiency, and an active FL or compact RN license.
Responsibilities- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at an acute care hospital
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Every other weekend required, or approximately 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period based on unit needs
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required to other units or other campuses within the health system (Cape Canaveral, Holmes Regional, Palm Bay, or Viera)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Kronos timekeeping system used; badge swipe required for clock-in/out
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Candidates who have previously held an internal contracted position must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers — no radius restrictions apply
- Flu vaccine required between 10/31 and 3/31; medical and religious exemptions accepted
- All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront
- Scrub dress code: solid color scrubs required — tops and bottoms must match in color; no logos or prints permitted
- Free parking provided with a decal issued at orientation
- Active FL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- 2 professional references from authority figures (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) dated within the last year required for consideration
