Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring EPIC and cardiac telemetry experience, with night and float shifts.
Responsibilities- Work in the PCU of a hospital setting
- Patient ratio is 1:5
- Primary focus on cardiac telemetry patients
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45–7:15)
- Required to work every other weekend or a total of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period, as determined by unit needs
- No on-call requirement
- Float to other units and locations within the health system may be required
- Uses EPIC for electronic charting (experience required)
- Responsible for providing nursing care to PCU patients with a focus on cardiac telemetry cases
- No restrictions for local candidates; all candidates receive the same pay rate
- Travelers may not have been employed with the health system within the past year
- Orientation includes required modules completed through the facility's LMS system
- Scrubs may be any solid color, but tops and bottoms must match with no logos or prints
- Free parking is provided with a decal issued at orientation
- Holiday coverage requirements as determined by the unit
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Active FL or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending license not accepted
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS; CPI preferred
- Prior cardiac telemetry and EPIC experience required
- Two professional references from a Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director within the last year are required
- Annual flu vaccine required during flu season (10/31-3/31), with medical or religious exemptions allowed
- Must have ability to complete lab work within 72 hours of signing
