Health First Careers is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Orthopedics department. As a Registered Nurse in our Med Surg / Orthopedics unit, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional care to patients with a variety of orthopedic conditions. This is a per diem position, offering flexible scheduling options to fit your lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient's condition

* Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians

* Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans

* Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatments, and self-care techniques

* Monitor and document patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation

* Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards

* Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve nursing skills and knowledge

Qualifications:

* Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida

* Minimum of 1 year of experience in Med Surg or Orthopedics nursing

* BLS and ACLS certifications

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays

Additional Parameters:

* Previous experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred

* BSN degree or higher preferred

* Orthopedic certification (ONC) a plus

Work Experience

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

* Education:

* Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.

* BSN required.

* Licensure:

Current Florida RN licensure or endorsement.

* Certification:

* Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain.

* Certification(s) as required by specific unit.

* Experience:

Must meet unit specific care requirements.

* Language:

Must be able to speak/understand written and verbal instructions in the English language.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

* Must have visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks.

* Must have corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

* Must be able to lift, turn, pull, push or ambulate patients/equipment up to 90% of the assigned shift.

* Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted up to 33% of the assigned shift.

* Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop up to 90% of assigned shift.

* Potential for exposure to bio-hazardous waste, and known or unknown diseases.

MENTAL DEMANDS:

* Must have ability to work in often stressful environment with patients/families at various ages and levels of understanding.

* Must have ability to concentrate on multiple priority activities.

* Must have ability to respond appropriately to life threatening situations.

* Must have critical thinking and problem solving skills.
