Melbourne Flight Training and Co. is seeking a creative, organized, and strategic Social Media Specialist to manage and grow the company’s social media presence across five departments. This role is responsible for content creation, platform management, performance tracking, and brand consistency. A key priority will be launching and building the social media presence for a new company from the ground up, including strategy, content planning, and audience growth.
This position combines creative storytelling with data-driven strategy and requires strong project management across multiple brands and audiences.
Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and manage monthly content calendars for all five departments.
- Ensure brand consistency in voice, visuals, and messaging across platforms.
- Schedule and publish content across Instagram, Facebook, Linked In, Tik Tok, and other relevant platforms.
- Monitor comments, messages, and engagement; respond or route inquiries as needed.
- Identify growth opportunities, trends, and platform best practices.
- Content Creation
- Plan, shoot, and edit photo and video content (short‑form video, reels, stories, etc.).
- Create graphics, captions, and visual assets aligned with brand guidelines.
- Coordinate on‑site content days with staff, students, customers, and leadership team.
- Capture behind‑the‑scenes, testimonials, events, and operational content.
- Multi‑Department Coordination
- Work with department leaders to identify content needs, promotions, and key initiatives.
- Balance content priorities across all departments.
- Maintain a centralized content request and approval workflow.
- New Company Launch (Priority Initiative)
- Develop a full social media strategy for a new company.
- Define target audience, messaging pillars, and visual style.
- Launch new social media accounts and establish posting cadence.
- Create foundational content (brand introduction, services, experience‑focused content).
- Build an initial audience and engagement strategy.
- Analytics & Reporting
- Track key metrics (growth, engagement, reach, conversions).
- Provide monthly performance reports and insights.
- Adjust strategy based on data and platform trends.
- Campaigns & Special Projects
- Support marketing campaigns, events, and promotions.
- Assist with rebranding rollouts or major announcements.
- Collaborate with marketing, admissions, and leadership team on strategic initiatives.
- 1+ years of social media management and content creation experience (required).
- Strong photography and videography skills (including mobile content creation).
- Familiarity with scheduling and analytics tools.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple brands/projects.
- Experience in aviation, travel, luxury services, or education (preferred but not required).
