What You Will Contribute

The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, supporting daily manufacturing operations, and driving continuous improvement within the materials flow process. This role partners closely with the assembly and warehouse teams to complete kitting activities, fulfill work orders, and maintain efficient movement of goods throughout the facility. The Inventory Coordinator also contributes to process optimization projects, cycle counting, and discrepancy investigations to support high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities Inventory Control & Accuracy
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and prepare reports; analyze results and implement corrective actions for all discrepancies.
  • Investigate root causes of negative inventory, recurring errors, and transactional issues; develop and track corrective action plans.
  • Maintain and update physical inventory locations, ensuring all warehouse bins, racks, and storage areas remain organized and current.
  • Reinforce proper inventory handling techniques and procedures with users across operations.
Operational Support (Assembly, Warehouse & Work Orders)
  • Support the assembly team with kitting, ensuring accurate and timely picking, staging, and delivery of materials for scheduled work orders.
  • Complete work orders by issuing materials, reconciling component usage, and reporting final quantities accurately in the ERP system.
  • Partner with the warehouse team to receive, move, store, and replenish raw materials and finished goods following FIFO and safety procedures.
  • Operate forklifts and material‑handling equipment safely. (Certification provided by employer if needed.)
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on material flow, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Contribute ideas and solutions to enhance inventory control procedures and optimize warehouse/assembly operations.
  • Support cross‑functional teams on projects geared toward reducing waste, improving accuracy, and streamlining workflows.
Planning & Material Movement
  • Review MRP outputs and coordinate raw material supply, internal transfers, and replenishment needs.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to designated production areas based on daily manufacturing requirements.
  • Serve as backup for related functions, including customer order promising, as needed.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 0–1+ years of experience in Inventory Control, Materials Handling, Warehouse Operations, or related fields preferred.
  • Experience with forklifts or other powered industrial equipment preferred; ability to obtain forklift certification required.
Qualifications
  • Basic ERP system experience required.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs repeatedly and handle material movement throughout the shift.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
