Job Summary:

Perform lead housekeeping duties at a Veteran Affairs Clinic in an efficient and effective manner.

Examples Of Essential Functions

The list of essential functions below is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this job. Other duties may be assigned based on business need.

  • Oversee the activities of the housekeeping and floor care staff to ensure accomplishment of daily activities.
  • Perform housekeeping and floor care work according to the specified contracted methods of cleaning.
  • Ensure quality assurance standards are met by doing visual inspections and make any necessary corrections.
  • Provide ongoing training to housekeeping and floor care staff.
  • Properly dispose of any hazardous waste material.
  • Answer housekeeping calls and perform other specified housekeeping tasks as requested.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment under established procedures.
Supervisory Responsibility
  • Fill in as supervisor in emergency.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Prior experience in housekeeping work.
  • Must be able to pass a background screening for access to the work areas.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
  • Must have received the COVID-19 vaccine in full by the date of hire to be considered for employment or would be required to wear a mask. Employees are required to receive the Flu vaccine or wear a mask during the Flu season (November-April).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a lead housekeeper.
  • Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Must be able to work harmoniously in a team environment with a diverse workforce.
  • Work at a reasonable pace for the job duties assigned and physical ability.
  • Good communication skills (e.g., able to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints; able to satisfactorily present information in oral or written formats).
  • Able to follow basic instructions with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Reasoning Ability:
    Able to identify issues or problems, evaluate and draw valid conclusions. Able to “think on your feet.”
  • Attentive to detail for quality performance.
  • Good administrative skills; comfortable performing multiple tasks concurrently; and attentive to detail for quality performance.
Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Physical Requirements

Requirements will vary depending on the assigned tasks. This position does require the following: repetitive lifting, push/pull, carrying, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling and prolonged standing. Will involve lifting/moving up to 40 pounds. These requirements can be met with or without reasonable accommodations.

Safety And Environmental Requirements
  • Working conditions are predominantly at the work sites (e.g., housekeeping work).
  • Infrequently may involve office work.
  • Will need to use any personal protective (safety) equipment as designated properly and consistently.
  • Involves exposure to hazardous materials (i.e., cleaning solutions and bio-waste hazards). Required inoculations and training provided by the company.
Sensory Requirements

Some tasks require manual dexterity.

Availability

Full-time:
Monday - Friday, 3:30 pm - 12:00 am. Schedule may vary based on operational needs or coverage requirements. Occasional Saturdays may be required.

Salary

$19.20/hour
