Admixture Tech II - IV Therapy at Health First
To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Service and Stewardship by assisting pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records.
Primary Accountabilities- The incumbent should be able to perform all duties of the HFMG Admixture Technician I.
- Attends pharmacy staff meetings and reads pertinent email communication.
- Participates in orientation, education, and training programs. Reviews literature and other materials.
- Completes all competence/skills assessment requirements and maintains Technician Registration.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Generates reports, pick lists, and labels as required.
- Collects data, conducts quality monitors, and completes onboarding and education of new associates.
- Problem solves clinical documentation issues and provides solutions.
- Acts as a conduit between nurses, providers, and benefit advisors to streamline patient care.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Work Experience: 3 years of technician experience with 2 or more years of sterile compounding and at least 6 months of those years compounding hazardous drugs.
Licensure: Current State of Florida Pharmacy Technician registration or current State of Florida Pharmacy Intern registration required.
Certification: N/A
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Computer skills to support distribution systems required. At least 3 years of technical experience and at least 6 months of hazardous drug mixing.
Preferred QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent
Licensure: Current State of Florida Pharmacy Technician registration or current State of Florida Pharmacy Intern registration required.
Certification: National pharmacy technician certification by the PTCB
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Computer skills to support distribution systems required. At least 3-5 years of technical experience, with 2 or more years of sterile compounding experience and at least 6 months of hazardous drug mixing. Leadership experience.
Physical Requirements (ADA, Travel, Environment, Noise)- Physically agile; may require walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing or crouching frequently.
- Medium work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- May require moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces.
- May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift.
- May be exposed to indoor and outdoor environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting, and noise levels.
- May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC Guidelines.
- Requires communication with others to exchange information.
- Requires visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
- May require travel to various facilities, within and beyond county perimeter, possibly using a personal vehicle.
Full-Time schedule, shift times 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Paygrade 29.
