Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Weapons Integration Engineer/Principal Weapons Integration Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Melbourne, FL
.
This position may be filled by either at the Weapons Integration Engineer level or at the Principal Weapons Integration Engineer level based on the qualifications listed.
The Weapons Integration Engineer is expected to be a highly motivated self‑starter with an ability to operate effectively on a team of engineers.
Roles and Responsibilities- Evaluate electrical systems, product components, and applications by designing and testing products.
- Perform requirements management, system integration, test‑plan development, and test execution of a weapon system throughout the entire development, demonstration, and production phases.
- Possess a general understanding of Platform‑Store ICDs for non‑conventional weapons, including but not limited to MIL‑STD‑1760, Stores Management Systems (SMS), MIL‑STD‑1553, and Suspension and Release Equipment (S&RE).
- Be familiar with weapon simulator hardware requirements and the definition, design, integration, test, and certification (end‑to‑end development) and operation of SMS and S&RE.
- Demonstrate outstanding organizational skills and prior knowledge of laboratory test environments.
- Understand all system requirements, develop statements of work, specifications, and interface control documents, prepare, monitor, and update program schedules, conduct and participate in related design reviews, and provide technical guidance to cross‑functional teams.
- Thrive in a fast‑paced work environment with high expectations, diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 2 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
- Active In‑Scope DoD Secret clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) – needed to start.
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
- Active In‑Scope DoD Secret clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) – needed to start.
- Experience working with weapons STE equipment.
