ManufacturingEngineer Co-Op
Position will work with the integrated product team in our Melbourne, FL facility. This position is for a student who is majoring in Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace and Electrical Engineering who is interested in gaining hands‑on experience in a manufacturing environment.
Immerse yourself in a full‑time, Monday‑Friday co‑op session, that will run May/June‑December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).
What You Will Do:- Designs and plans process Layout for assembly and materials handling.
- Participates and may help plan sequence of operations and specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance
- Assist in development of manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques
- Participate in cross‑functional team efforts to improve test yields, production throughput, test capacity, and overall product Quality.
- Identify component test failure trends and perform root cause analysis. Implement corrective actions to resolve. Prepare test failure analysis reports as required for production.
- Study performance and reliability of existing test equipment and establish programs and solutions for decreasing test equipment downtime.
- Analyze test approach, plans, and processes for cost reduction, test efficiency, test yields, and manufacturing test capacity opportunities
- Will gain knowledge and adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions
- Will assist in providing guidance for engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
