Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Principal Computer Hardware Engineer/Sr. Principal Computer Hardware Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
** This position may be filled by either at the Principal Computer Hardware Engineer level OR at the Sr. Principal Computer Hardware Engineer level based on the qualifications listed.
** Tasks include, but are not limited to:
* Experience in COTS hardware and BSP designs, estimating application performance within the constructs of the hardware and methods of measuring application performance

* Design and develop computer, network, and storage architecture, perform hardware integration and testing, and requirements analysis

* Experience with trade studies, documenting subsystem architectures, analyzing performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL) with regard to supplier current and future products offerings

* Experience with developing supplier documentation, performance based specifications, and statements of work

* Build supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection

* Ability to review documents from the supplier's development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews

Basic Qualifications:

Principal Computer Hardware Engineer (T03)
* Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 1 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.

* Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.

* Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP) (not needed to start).

* Demonstrated knowledge of computer architecture and associated elements: processing hardware, operating systems, board support packages, messaging middleware, networking standards/protocols (e.g. 1553, 1394, Ethernet), and data storage

Basic Qualifications:

Sr. Principal Computer Hardware Engineer (T04)
* Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 7 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.

* Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
