The company is a rapidly growing engineering business located on the Space Coast in Melbourne, FL.

Critical Frequency Design is seeking a Portfolio Manager to join our team to support within the Avionics and Space integrated communication systems domain. This position will interact with photonics, electrical, and mechanical engineers, and with operations and supply chain personnel, to develop and produce CFD’s advanced products, with substantial involvement at every step in the development process and across a wide range of technology readiness levels, from inception to prototype to qualified product.

Responsibilities

will include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead internal program teams and monitor all program activities to ensure compliance with product specifications, performance requirements, schedules & cost commitments, and contract requirements
  • Accountable for the cost, schedule, and technical performance requirements of the portfolio through all phases
  • Manage the portfolio family of products, responsible for revenue, profit, cash flow and spending
  • Manage programs through the integration of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) processes and procedures or equivalent
  • Develop, manage, track, and report financial forecasts across the portfolio
  • Direct the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contracts
  • Recommends tactics and strategies that directly impact the achievement of overall business or functional results creating a reliable and growing forecast
  • Manage a team of Program Managers, to include providing programmatic and technical leadership, coaching, mentoring, and succession planning
  • Lead or participate in the negotiation of contract and contract changes
  • Ensure that all resources such as engineering, manpower, production, and facilities are available to support the programs within the portfolio
  • Identify existing or potential program risks and obtain solutions such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications
  • Develop and execute business roadmaps and strategies to grow the portfolio
  • Define program parameters and/or guiding internal research and development efforts
  • Work with customers to determine needs, requirements, and new business opportunities
  • Expands the product line with the customer based on emerging needs and differentiated solutions
  • Ensure customer satisfaction, maintaining customer communication, and providing overall management of the customer relationship
  • Interact directly with and fosters an excellent working relationship with customers
  • Provide executive level briefings to key internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications

The candidate must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • U.S. Person with the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Understanding of customer procurement processes and government funding approval
  • Solid technical background and strong financial skills
  • Strong leadership skills and business acumen
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience
  • Experience leading cross functional teams and working across different business organizations
  • Experience with Risk and Change Management
  • Experience leading and developing cost and technical proposals
