Yoga Teacher – a part‑time employee.
Reports to:
Lead Teacher.
Yoga Six Teachers are passionate, dedicated professionals eager to grow and elevate their practice. They thrive in a community environment and guide classes that are empowering, energizing, and FUN.
Duties- Delivering Exceptional Classes
- Create a class experience that reflects your personality and skills while adhering to the Yoga Six standards and guidelines for each of the core class types.
- Set up and manage the practice room: props, mat spacing, music, lighting.
- Provide top‑notch instruction, ensuring every class is safe, fun, and creative for students of all levels.
- Clean the practice room and prop room after each class, leaving the space as neat as you found it.
- Building Connection & Community
- Arrive prepared to connect with students at least 15 minutes prior to class start.
- Create a personal connection with each student.
- Follow up with students after class for 15 minutes.
- Support studio success by attending to new students during trials, promoting events, and staying knowledgeable about special programs.
- Minimum 200‑hour Yoga Alliance Certification
- 6 months teaching experience preferred.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Warm, approachable, and outgoing personality
- Genuine ability to connect with complete strangers.
- Willingness to grow and remain a lifelong student.
- A sense of humor.
- Commitment to continuous personal development and coaching.
- Availability – Teach a minimum of 2 classes per week over at least two days per week.
- Communication & People Skills
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate harmoniously with coworkers, clients, and the public.
- Maintain a calm, respectful, and professional demeanor under all circumstances.
- Strong customer‑service orientation.
- Organizational, Professional & Technological
- Professional, punctual, reliable, and neat.
- Trustworthy and able to handle confidential studio information.
- Proficient with computers and studio software.
- Physically able to walk freely in the classroom, demonstrate postures, monitor students, provide hand‑on adjustments, and facilitate dynamic, energizing, and fun classes in a heated room.
- May be required to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Vision requirements: close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
- Effective hearing in person and via telephone.
- Competitive hourly rate plus an additional class rate based on experience and performance.
- Free continuing education and discounted teacher‑training programs.
