3D Artist - Customer Experience & Digital Visualization
The 3D Artist – Customer Experience & Digital Visualization is a customer‑facing creative professional located at Embraer’s Global Customer Center – Melbourne, FL. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver an exceptional customer experience by supporting interior design sessions for a global executive aviation customer base. This position interfaces directly with high‑profile, high‑net‑worth customers, helping transform their preferences into compelling and accurate digital visualizations.
OverviewResponsibilities
- Customer Experience & Live Configurator Support
- Operate the in‑house 3D Configurator in real time.
- Update materials, configurations, and options accurately.
- Maintain strong situational awareness and interact professionally with customers.
- Use HP Z Captis with Adobe Substance 3D Sampler to scan, calibrate, tile, and export textures.
- Ensure all scanned materials meet quality standards.
- Integrate materials into the Configurator.
- Maintain consistency through proper naming conventions.
- Collaboration with the Visualization Team
- Author materials in Substance 3D Designer, producing .sbsar or texture outputs compatible with 3ds Max + V‑Ray and Unreal Engine.
- Expose functional parameters (e.g., color/roughness/variation) when appropriate to allow downstream customization and maintain real‑world scale and lighting behavior.
- Coordinate with the Visualization Team to ensure appearance parity and resolve issues related to textures, scale, or map interpretation.
- Hands-on experience using Adobe Substance 3D Sampler with a material capture device (HP Z Captis preferred).
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Substance 3D Designer for P material creation and .sbsar authoring.
- Proven experience creating tileable, scan-based materials from physical samples.
- Ability to produce map sets for the configurator and full materials for V‑Ray and Unreal Engine.
- Experience with photometric/polarimetric scanners such as HP Z Captis (experience with Vizoo/X‑Rite is valuable but must translate to the Captis + Sampler workflow).
- High attention to color accuracy, tiling quality, scale, and realism.
- Comfortable in customer‑facing roles and responsive during live sessions.
- Experience in aviation, automotive, product, or architectural visualization.
- Familiarity with textiles, leathers, veneers, stones, and other interior materials.
- Understanding of UV workflows, shader fundamentals, and real‑time rendering principles.
- Experience working in customer‑facing technical roles.
- Desirable experience with 3ds Max and V‑Ray
- Strong situational awareness and ability to follow directions precisely.
- Calm and professional demeanor in customer environments.
This role elevates the customer experience at the Global Customer Center by delivering accurate real‑time visualization and providing essential digital materials used throughout the design process.
Working Conditions/Environment/Special Requirements- Ability to work safely and professionally, adhering to all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, State, and Federal regulations.
