Industrial Maintenance Technician; 3rd Shift

Overview

Industrial Maintenance Technician (3rd Shift) at Carlisle Brake & Friction. The role focuses on preventive maintenance of industrial equipment and facilities with emphasis on mechanical power transmission, electrical, hydraulics and pneumatics. The position requires experience with industrial controls, 480-volt 3-phase electrical feeders, machining, robotics, and CNC, and involves work on various equipment including presses, furnaces, grinders, coating equipment, gear shapers, robotics, CNC machines, laser cutters, dust and fume collection systems, and HVAC equipment.

Medina, OH. Position starts at $28.00 (based on experience).

• Ensure that safety standards are maintained while performing duties
• Perform corrective maintenance on equipment
• Carry out routine checks on production equipment
• Carry out regular preventive maintenance on equipment following specified standards and time frames
• Carry out regular preventive maintenance on facilities to mitigate major damage
• Diagnose and repair or replace worn parts in machines and equipment
• Maintain correct fluid levels on machines as part of preventive activities
• Replace filters and change oil and grease; complete assigned lubrication routes
• Keep facility areas free of hazardous objects and substances
• Assist external technicians or subcontractors during external PMs when required
• Work with Planner to record work activities and update PM standard work procedures, part lists and tools
• Submit reports on work activities and progress to the supervisor
• Work independently or as part of a team to perform PM, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and facility systems
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and suggest preventive actions
• Follow written instructions to perform scheduled preventive maintenance
• Collaborate with engineering to upgrade equipment for safety, functionality and reliability
• Identify and order machine components and materials needed for given jobs
• Accurately estimate time required to complete jobs
• Interface with the computerized maintenance management system to retrieve work orders, issue parts, and close records
• Be flexible with hours, including staying late or working weekends when needed
• Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for training

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with strong knowledge of mechanical power transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding and fabrication, pipe fitting, and construction trades
• Strong communication skills, analytical abilities, and the ability to multi-task
