Cleaning Technician Maintenance

The Cleaning Technician works under the direction of the Cleaning Supervisor. This person performs a variety of tasks related to routine building cleaning. Areas to be cleaned include, but are not limited to, restrooms, stairwells, windows, entryways, hallways, vacuum and/or mop floors and other areas as assigned.

• Responsible for routine building cleaning. This includes cleaning restrooms, stairwells, windows, entryways, hallways, and vacuum and/or mop
• Typical tasks performed include a combination of the following: sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines. Sometimes using ladders/step stool to dust, wash walls, clean ceiling, and dust light fixtures. Move furniture and boxes to clean vents and floorboards. Clean and thoroughly disinfect restrooms including toilets, sinks, grout and other solid surfaces.
  
  Replenishes paper products as needed. May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• Collect and dispose of furnishings in buildings with supplies. May handle emergency clean up situations.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

• Graduate from high school or
• Valid Ohio Driver’s license with clean driving record
• Proof of adequate insurance

Knowledge of safety procedures.

Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules and regulations. Knowledge of Medina city and surrounding areas.

Knowledge of basic maintenance equipment.

Knowledge of departmental County policies and procedures.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to effectively communicate with the public.

Ability to travel independently throughout the County. Ability to work with limited supervision.

Ability to ensure a safe working environment. Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Operate various types of tools and equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain a clean working environment.

Handle emergencies and clean up situations. Maintain accurate records.
