Job Summary

We are a growing, for-profit hospice organization seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Hospice Administrator to lead a small but expanding Ohio operation. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and compassionate hospice professional that is able to lead and oversee the daily operations of our hospice care services. In this vital role, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered end-of-life care while managing staff, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Your leadership will foster a supportive environment for patients, families, and team members, promoting excellence in hospice care delivery. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in long-term care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care, with a strong focus on dementia and Alzheimer s care. Duties Leadership & Growth
  • Provide day-to-day leadership for hospice operations in a small office environment
  • Drive responsible census growth while maintaining compliance and care quality
  • Partner closely with corporate leadership to execute growth and market expansion strategies
  • Build scalable systems, workflows, and accountability as the organization grows
Regulatory & Compliance
  • Ensure full compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation, Ohio Department of Health (ODH) regulations, and payer requirements
  • Maintain survey readiness and oversee audits, corrective actions, and licensure
  • Ensure policies and procedures support both compliance and operational efficiency
Financial & Performance Management
  • Manage budgets, expenses, and financial performance
  • Monitor admissions, length of stay, revenue cycle metrics, and operational KPIs
  • Identify opportunities to improve margins while preserving ethical, patient-centered care
Clinical Quality & Operations
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and Director of Nursing to ensure excellent patient outcomes
  • Oversee QAPI, risk management, and patient/family satisfaction
  • Address complaints, grievances, and operational issues promptly and professionally
Team Building & Culture
  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing clinical and support staff
  • Foster a results-driven, ethical, and mission-focused culture
  • Coach leaders and staff to grow with the organization
Community & Referral Development
  • Strengthen relationships with referral partners, healthcare providers, and community stakeholders
  • Represent the hospice in the community and promote ethical growth practices
  • Support marketing and business development initiatives
Experience

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • 3–5+ years of hospice or healthcare leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of Ohio hospice regulations and CMS Conditions of Participation
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a small, growth-oriented environment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong accountability
Preferred Qualifications
  • RN license
  • Prior experience scaling a hospice or healthcare operation
  • Experience working in a for-profit healthcare setting
