Inventory Controller
As an Inventory Controller, you are responsible for the Yard Management System (YMS) and SAP to ensure the systems are updated in real time with data collected from the yard personnel on over 200 types of pipe and pipe accessory inventory. This position works with the yard lead, yard crews and truck drivers to ensure inventory is loaded onto trucks accurately as per dispatch request.
Effective communication on radio devices is essential. This position is mainly based in an office setting, however outside work is required in short durations throughout the day. Preventive and corrective maintenance actions are performed to uphold equipment reliability and availability.

Responsibilities- Receive information from internal dispatch team and coordinate with yard lead, yard crews and incoming trucks to ensure product requested by customer is loaded onto trucks with meticulous accuracy.
- Facilitating entry and exit of trucking personnel.
- Load inventory information requested by dispatch and collected by yard personnel into the YMS system.
- Final verification that product loaded onto truck by yard personnel is accurate to dispatch information.
- Plan reception of inventory by truck/railcar to verify piece, type and count in conjunction with yard crews.
- Assist in shipment activities preparing Just‑in‑Time schedule.
- Monitor First In, First Out and product aging.
- Optimize the use of stock, ensuring product availability.
- Problem‑solve as inventory discrepancies are noticed by backtracking inventory movements in SAP.
- Guarantee customer satisfaction on purchase orders.
- Work with Administration and Finance department to complete inventory counts on an annual basis.
- Organize ad‑hoc inventory tally counts as needed to verify inventory on hand.
- Comply with Tenaris policies, procedures and management standards, and ensure adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.
- Adhoc projects and responsibilities as the business requires.
- Minimum of 2 years inventory control experience in any industry, however OCTG inventory preferred.
- Warehouse Management, Accounting or Supply Chain background preferred.
- SAP experience, required.
- Class 5 Driver’s License and clean drivers abstract, an asset.
- Data analysis experience, an asset.
- Experience with inventory management systems, an asset.
- First Aid Certification required (can be trained after hired).
