Position SummaryWe are seeking a Vibration Analyst who is also a certified Millwright, to support the reliability and maintenance of rotating equipment across our facility. The ideal candidate brings hand on mechanical experience combined with strong condition monitoring and diagnostic skills.
This role is critical to improving rotating equipment reliability and supporting the development of condition-based maintenance practices at our facility.
Responsibilities- Performs route based and online vibration analysis on rotating equipment including pumps, motors, compressors, fans, gearboxes and blowers;
- Collect, analyze and interpret vibration data using Emerson vibration systems (e.g., AMS Machinery Manager, AMS 2140 analyzers, System
1); - Diagnose mechanical faults;
- Provide clear, actionable recommendations to maintenance and operations teams;
- Support root cause failure analysis and reliability improvement initiatives;
- Work collaboratively with maintenance, planners, engineering, and operations;
- Improve and develop the current condition-based monitoring program at NWR;
- Maintain accurate vibration reports and equipment history;
- Develop and perform troubleshooting scope for complex issues pertaining to rotating equipment vibration;
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability;
- Collaborate with NWR Maintenance and Engineering to make key job execution decisions (e.g., TA scope, major overhaul scope);
- Mentor peers to better understand vibration analysis;

- Journeyperson Millwright certification;
- Minimum Vibration Analysis Category II with 3 years of experience;
- Minimum 5 years of refinery, upgrader, petro-chemical facilities experience;
- Solid understanding of rotating equipment and machinery dynamics;
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Reliability-focused mindset with exposure to PdM programs;
- Team player: willing to continuously and proactively collaborate, share, and seek information and guidance;
- Self-aware, able to recognize personal performance and to take steps to mitigate;
- Self-confident enough to seek assistance with difficult or complex issues;
- Previous experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) with preference for Maximo and work management systems and processes;
- Must be a self-starter with proven ability to make comprehensive decisions
- Vibration Analysis Category III considered an asset but not required
- Experience with online vibration monitoring systems considered an asset but not required
- Oil Analysis or Ultrasound certification considered an asset but not required.
