The Small Engine Mechanic at GOLD BEACH LUMBER YARD INC is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines used in various equipment, ensuring their optimal performance and longevity. This role is crucial in supporting the operational efficiency of our equipment and providing exceptional service to our customers.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with small engines, including lawnmowers, chainsaws, and other outdoor power equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on small engines to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.
• Conduct inspections and tests on equipment to identify any potential issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and labor hours.
• Communicate effectively with customers to explain the nature of repairs and provide estimates for time and cost.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in small engine technology and repair techniques.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations while performing all repair and maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow and timely completion of all service requests.

• High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in small engine repair is preferred.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in small engine repair and maintenance.
• Proven track record of diagnosing and troubleshooting various types of small engines, including lawn mowers, chainsaws, and other outdoor power equipment.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand engine components and systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to assess engine performance and identify issues.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, spark plug replacements, and air filter cleaning.
• Excellent problem-solving skills to effectively address and resolve engine malfunctions.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality repair work and customer satisfaction.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet repair deadlines.
• Good communication skills to interact with customers and provide clear explanations of repair processes and outcomes.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to handle tools and perform repairs in various positions.
