Rogue Community College welcomes applications for a part-time Science Lab Technician I.
The primary purpose of the Lab Tech is to maintain a safe operating environment in the science lab for faculty and students. To accomplish this, the technician is responsible for security of central supplies and lab equipment; prepares science labs for faculty and students; maintaining inventory and SDS’; orders and receives department supplies; and minor maintenance and repair of science equipment.
The technician also assists in annual inventory, oversees and assists student workers in preparing work-stations; and assists in developing equipment needs for Science Department. The Science Lab Technician 1 may need to, from time to time, fill in on other RCC campuses.
- Maintain safe and accessible classrooms, labs, tools, and technology
- Manages virtual and physical inventory
- Prepare a wide variety of solutions, solvents, reagents and pathogens
- Adhere to and enforce laboratory safety rules and procedures
- Prepare lab and experiments/exercises for classes
- Assist and support instructors and students during lab
- Coordinates student lab workers
- Manages security of laboratory equipment
- Repairs laboratory equipment
- Supporting general operations of the RWC greenhouse
- May participate in College committees as assigned
- Engages in professional growth opportunities as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned
