Responsibilities

  • Plan, create, and execute annual development plans and fundraising activities including individual giving, corporate sponsor ships and partnerships, foundations and government grants, legacy giving, and fundraising/donor cultivation and stewardship events.
  • Outline special campaigns (including capital campaigns) and solicit major gifts to support the strategic goals of the organization, collaborating with the President & CEO and the Board of Directors to meet campaign goals.
  • Manage donor and prospect relationships through a comprehensive program of identification, introduction, cultivation, and stewardship.
  • Lead Britt’s overall marketing, communications, and storytelling, ensuring consistency across all channels and touchpoints including email, web, social media, advertising, PR, and on-site communications, ensuring that all materials are high-quality, on time, and on budget.
  • Develop marketing, communications, and campaign strategy. Set campaign priorities, audience strategies, and messaging frameworks.
  • Ensure Britt’s brand reflects its artistic excellence, community impact, and educational mission.
  • Supervise and lead a full-time team, establishing team workflows, communication protocols, and performance standards to ensure efficient coordination between development and marketing functions.
  • Develop and manage revenue & expense budgets, working with the Leadership Team to define and achieve annual revenue and audience development targets.
  • Analyze metrics and trends to evaluate performance against goals, providing strategic recommendations to improve results.
  • Update and/or establish policies, systems, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Significant experience in development or organizational fundraising through either education, training, or work experience; experience in and a deep passion for arts/cultural organization fundraising strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding revenue goals in previous positions.
  • Proven ability to attract and develop significant relationships, particularly with high-net-worth individuals, media, corporate executives, and foundation representatives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; with demonstrated experience in storytelling for diverse audiences, including grant proposals, donor communications, and marketing materials.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations based on metrics.
  • Proficiency with donor management/CRM systems (such as Spektrix), websites (such as Wordpress) and other digital platforms, with the ability to leverage these tools effectively for analysis, campaign management, and strategic planning.
  • Enthusiasm for creating multi-year comprehensive fundraising and communications strategies, with proven follow-through skills.
  • The ability to develop and use systems to track and adjust work plans and budgets as needed.
  • Intercultural competency, ability to interact with and engage a diverse array of individuals with diplomacy and respect.
  • An interest in or curiosity about music, the arts, and cultural institutions as community builders.
Preferred
  • Significant experience in development or organizational fundraising through either education, training, or work experience; experience in and a deep passion for arts/cultural organization fundraising strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding revenue goals in previous positions.
