Salary Range: $33.91 and up, based on relative experience
Shift Differentials:
- $1.62 extra for working between 3:00pm - 11:00pm
- $3.00 extra for working between 11:01pm and 7:00am
- $1.43 extra for working weekends

Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC) has a state-of-the-art surgical department with 20 OR suites, including 2 dedicated cardiac surgery suites and 2 hybrid operating rooms. With 10 blocks per day, ARRMC performs approximately 10,000 cases per year with a variety of specialties. These specialties include general/vascular, neurosurgery, total joint/orthopedics, bariatric surgery, trauma, ENT, plastics, urology and cardiothoracic surgery. As a progressive surgical hospital, ARRMC performs robotic urological, gynecological, and general surgery - and was one of the first in the state of Oregon to employ the use of the Mazor neurosurgical robot and to perform transcather aortic valve replacement (TAVR).
ARRMC also performs Davinci Si and Xi robotic surgeries in general, urology and GYN specialties. As the region's referral center, serving nine counties, ARRMC is also recognized as a top cardiac surgery hospital in the Northwest performing approximately 600 heart cases and 400 lung cases per year.
As a level 2 trauma designation, there is a 20-minute response time for standby call. Standby call requirements are defined by the department and may be based on current staffing needs.
We are seeking an impressive Cardiac Surgical Technologist to join the Heart Team at ARRMC. At Asante, Surgical Technicians are a highly valued member of the patient care team in Surgery, working under the supervision of the Charge Nurse. As a Surgical Technologist at Asante, you will have the opportunity to join a team where camaraderie extends into personal life and where high performance is expected.
What You'll Do- Become a critical member of the surgical team by functioning as a Surgical Technician in the Operating Room under the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) and Certified Surgical Technician (CST) guidelines.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon, pass appropriate instruments, and assist in exposure of the surgical field.
- Select and prepare the appropriate supplies and equipment for surgical cases and operate all surgical equipment.
- Organize instrumentation and the sterile field.
- Perform all surgical counts consistently, including safety count.
- You have knowledge of procedure and technique in caring for patients, equipment, and supplies.
- You can demonstrate aseptic technique, scrub, gown and glove counts; and other aspects of scrub role under the AORN and CST guidelines.
- You can task-switch rapidly without losing your efficiency or your focus.
- Your communication game is strong - you rarely feel misunderstood.
ONE of the following is required
:
- Graduate of a nationally accredited, approved by the OHA, education program for surgical tech and has, or is able to obtain, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) within 12 months of graduation, or
- In lieu of CST, OSA (Ophthalmic Surgical Assisting) subspecialty certification from JCAHPO will be accepted, or
- In lieu of certification; completed training for surgical techs in the military and has completed 16 hours continuing education every 2 years, or
- Provides documentation showing surgical tech practice during at least 2 of the 3 years immediately preceding 01/01/2017 and completes 16 hours of continuing education every 2 years, or
- LPN Licensed by the Oregon State Board of Nursing may be considered in lieu of CST and will waive previous experience requirement.
