Join our compassionate team as a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Physician and make a meaningful difference in patients' lives during their most vulnerable moments. This full-time locum role offers a dynamic and collaborative environment where your expertise will provide comfort, relief, and dignity to patients facing serious illness. Whether onsite or via telehealth, you'll work with a dedicated multidisciplinary team committed to delivering exceptional care.
Your work will be vital in supporting patients and families through complex medical and emotional challenges, ensuring quality end-of-life experiences.
Required Skills:
- Active Oregon medical license and DEA registration
- Board Certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine or Board Eligible within 5 years of residency
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Surgical, medical, or family medicine background with extensive hospice experience (if Board Eligible)
- Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to both onsite and telehealth settings
Skills:
- Experience with telehealth platforms and remote patient monitoring
- Prior experience in inpatient and outpatient hospice settings
- Ability to handle complex symptom management and crisis intervention
- Flexibility to work variable shifts, including nights and weekends
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited medical school with completed residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Demonstrated prior hospice care experience, especially in settings involving complex patient needs
- Minimum of 2 years of hospice or palliative care practice in a clinical setting
- Willingness to work onsite as needed, with eventual potential for full onsite work later in January
- Active Oregon medical license and DEA registration required
- Ability to work guaranteed 8 hours per day, with overtime after 9 hours
- Call responsibilities 4-6 nights and approximately 1 weekend per month, shared between Portland and Medford locations
- Availability to participate in telehealth visits, consultation calls, and crisis management as part of the interdisciplinary team
