This is a full-time on-site role for a CNC Set Up Machinist - Shop Lead. The position is located in Medford, NY. The CNC Set Up Machinist - Shop Lead will be responsible for setting up and overseeing machining, milling, turning, and Swiss, and helping to train new-to-the-industry machinists while meeting production goals.
Responsibilities- Set up and oversee machining processes including milling, turning, and Swiss operations.
- Train new-to-the-industry machinists and ensure production goals are met.
- 5+ years working in an aerospace machine shop with a good understanding of the working qualities of various metals.
- Understanding of machining processes, tooling.
- Ability to use measuring tools as required (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Good planning and organization skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Dependable, Enthusiastic and driven to succeed.
- Programming and editing experience a plus.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC programs a plus.
- Turning, Swiss, and/or Milling experience required.
- Experience in CNC machine set up and operation.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Experience holding tolerances to .0002" and .001 True Position.
- Full-time. expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
- Day shift available
- Evening shift available
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
