Overview
Lead Veterinary Receptionist – Long Island Spay and Neuter | Medford, New York
Summary:
We are looking for a Lead Receptionist to join our growing team. This individual will be an integral part of the development of client relationships and will assist the Hospital Manager and Medical Director in ensuring efficient hospital operations. Our ideal candidate will foster positive cross-departmental relationships. All positions come with growth opportunities; we custom tailor plans for each Team Member's career journey.
- Oversee process of patient admissions and discharges
- Ensure that hospital flow is efficient and effective
- Collaborate closely with Lead Veterinary Technician, Hospital Manager, and Medical Director to determine opportunities for operational improvements
- Train all new reception Team Members
- Maintain strong understanding of veterinary products and medications, including prescription medications, veterinary diets, over-the-counter medications, and supplements
- Work with Marketing Team and Hospital Manager to review and respond to client concerns
- Checking patients in, discharging patients, invoicing
- Provide customer service such as greeting customers, answering questions, processing incoming patients, and handling payments
- Answer phone calls which may include answering questions, scheduling appointments, and recording messages for doctors and staff
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and email
- Update and file patient charts
- Enter data into computerized billing program
- Retrieve prescriptions
- Assist with pet supply purchases such as food, supplements, and grooming items
- Maintain the cleanliness of waiting room
- Retail sales
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and stand on feet for long periods
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or relevant education and work experience
