Overview
The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Camp Director in developing and implementing the daily camp program as well as supervising summer staff and campers. The Assistant Director is a safety‑sensitive position.

Responsibilities- Assist the Camp Director with day‑to‑day operations of camp programs, including developing and implementing schedule changes, risk‑management procedures, special events, program development, and camper achievement programs.
- Oversee camper character development, parent relationships, and general communication.
- Supervise village leaders and submit written performance evaluations twice a summer.
- Assist with direct supervision of staff, including development and support, appreciation and leading meetings.
- Oversee camper relations, communicate with parents, and participate in nightly patrols.
- Assist with the trading post, evening programs, and special events.
- Participate in all aspects of the camper’s day, including check‑in and check‑out, mealtimes, activities, and before/after‑hours duties.
- Attend and participate in Administration Staff Training and All Staff Training.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Education, or related field preferred or in progress.
- Leadership skills to assist in daily camp operations.
- Knowledge of daily camp program operations, staff and camper supervision.
- Knowledge of safety, equipment and supplies care, inventory, skill instruction and progression‑appropriate programming.
- Ability to teach songs, crafts, games, stories, sports, and related skills is preferred.
- Must show enthusiasm, dedication, responsibility, and maturity and have the ability to interact and communicate clearly with campers, parents and staff.
