Position Overview:

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking an experienced solo Class B CDL truck driver for a temporary schedule in Mechanicsville, VA. The role involves driving regional routes from VA to NC, with a Tuesday‑Friday schedule and no weekend work.

• Weekly pay: $1,200
• Hourly rate: $28.00
• Per diem: $40.00 per night (2 nights out per week)
• Start time: 3:00 AM – 4:00 AM
• Schedule:
  
  Tuesday – Friday (no weekends)

• Route: SOLO to VA, NC – regional
• Tractor:
  Straight truck
• Trailer: 26’ straight truck
• Equipment:
  Lift gate and manual pallet jack
• Trucks are 36 months or newer with 24/7 roadside maintenance

• Uniform and boot allowance provided

• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations
• Identify and eliminate safety hazards
• Maintain accurate records and logs
• Load and unload freight as required by customers
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder drug test
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check (previous employers for the last 3 years)
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide a valid CDL and endorsements for the position
• Class A or Class B verifiable experience (tractor trailer or comparable vehicle)
• Experience:
  
  9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within last 5 years, or 5 years within last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
