This position is for a Registered Nurse on the Cardiopulmonary Care Step‑Down Unit at Memorial Regional Medical Center, part of the Bon Secours network.

Job Summary

The Progressive Care (Step‑Down) Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, acting as the interface between Med‑Surg and ICU units, determining priority of patient needs, and developing and performing patient care plans to enhance outcomes.

Essential Functions
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyze data, create a plan of care, implement treatment, and evaluate effectiveness.
  • Serve as point of contact for patients' care coordination across hospital departments.
  • Act as a patient safety advocate through ongoing quality improvement activities.
  • Administer medications safely in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred, not required).
Certifications
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS required within 6 months of hire).
Experience
  • 1 year of RN experience (required).
  • 6 months of RN experience in an acute‑care hospital setting (preferred).
