Bon Secours is a faith‑based, patient‑focused organization dedicated to providing excellent care. We seek compassionate, collaborative RNs to join our Progressive Care Step‑Down Unit in Mechanicsville, VA.
About the UnitFast‑paced, high‑acuity step‑down unit caring for complex patients including post‑operative cardiac surgery, general surgery, septic, respiratory failure, DKA, and advanced heart failure. RNs receive support through telemetry and ACLS certifications.
Job SummaryDeliver exceptional nursing care by assessing patient status, acting as the liaison between Med‑Surg and ICU units, prioritizing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, and maintaining a safe therapeutic environment.
Essential Functions- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyze data, create and implement care plans, and evaluate effectiveness
- Serve as point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments
- Advocate for patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Administer medications safely per state and organizational policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
- BSN preferred, not required
- Current RN license
- BLS or ACLS (ACLS required within 6 months of hire)
- 1 year RN experience (required)
- 6 months in acute care hospital setting (preferred)

Eligible for up to $20K (day shift) or $25K (night shift) for full‑time, $10K for part‑time hours for external applicants with at least one year of RN experience (internal BSMH associates not eligible).
