Registered Nurse (RN) – Charge Nurse – Mother Infant Unit (MIU) – Memorial Regional Medical Center

Join Bon Secours Mercy Health as a Charge Nurse in the Mother Infant Unit (MIU) at Memorial Regional Medical Center. The role focuses on ensuring high quality, safe, and efficient patient care while supporting a collaborative, customer‑centric environment.

Bonus Eligibility
External applicants with at least one year of RN experience are eligible for a sign‑on bonus of up to $5,000. Internal BSMH associates are not eligible for this bonus.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate nursing and interprofessional team members to develop and sustain an environment that promotes clinical excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Adjust schedules and patient assignments to accommodate changes in acuity, patient population, resources, and care design.
  • Provide supervision of staff, offer clinical support, and assume managerial responsibilities for the unit in the absence of the nurse manager/clinical care leader.
  • Use the nursing process and clinical knowledge to manage unit operations and achieve optimal efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications
  • Required Minimum Education: 4‑year Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Specialty/Major: Nursing – BSN must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
  • Licensure/Certification: Graduate of an accredited nursing school; currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia.
  • Minimum Years/Type of

    Experience:

    18–24 months of experience with clinical, psychological, and pathophysiological theories related to nursing diagnosis and treatment; familiarity with nursing policies and procedures.
  • Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    Required:

    Minimum of Clinical Nurse II in the Professional Nurse Advancement Program or submit a portfolio upon hire. Demonstrated knowledge of management/leadership theories, teaching skills, and group dynamics.
  • Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred: Previous charge nurse or supervisory experience.
