* Job Summary:

*
* The Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:

+ Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status

+ Determining the priority of the patient's problems and needs

+ Implementing clinical nursing interventions to acute, critical patients that require intensive medical care

+ Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes

+ Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment

* Essential Functions:

*
* + In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, and safely demonstrates basic knowledge of the contemporary nursing practice

+ Provides episodic (outpatient) and inpatient (at designated units) pediatric nursing care where applicable

+ Applies knowledge of contemporary Pediatric nursing practice and future innovations

+ Utilizes nursing practice to the care of pediatric patients that require nursing assessment and interdisciplinary team interventions

+ Evaluates, updates and revises plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes

+ Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization's policies and procedures

+ Other duties as assigned

* Education:

* + Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required)

*
* Certifications:

*
* + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

+ BLS Basic Life Support or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support  (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care, PALS required within 6 months of hire based on departmental requirements)

*
* Experience:

*
* + One (1) year of professional experience practicing as a Registered Nurse (RN)

+ Recent Medical/Surgical, NICU, Pediatric, OB, ED or critical care experience (preferred, not required)

** Training:*
* + EPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred, not required)
