About the RoleThe Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (Virginia ABC) is seeking to fill multiple Distribution Center Associate roles. Our Distribution Center operation is responsible for receiving, sorting and shipping over 50,000 cases of spirits across hundreds of brands every day. We are the sole supplier to over 400 Virginia ABC stores across the entire state.
Distribution Center Associates help support Virginia ABC's state‑of‑the‑art Distribution Center and are responsible for preparing inventory for delivery/shipping to all Virginia ABC stores by utilizing production equipment while ensuring that all Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and safety guidelines are followed. This position also provides support to the Distribution Center as needed.
* This position is a wage position and is limited to 29 hours per week with no benefits, not to exceed 1500 hours per year.
* This is an evening shift position with a schedule of 5pm-10pm Monday-Friday.
- Loads production materials onto machinery and loads cases onto belts or pallets for shipping.
- De-palletizes or de-belts cases and organize for delivery in outbound shipments.
- Loads cases onto outbound shipments.
- Maintains process quality control checks.
- Interacts with Virginia ABC’s Warehouse Management System.
- Operates production equipment including motorized pallet jacks, forklifts, and other mobile equipment.
- Uses scanners, touchpads, and other technology to ensure strict production inventory accuracy.
- Ensures that all SOPs, safety, and sanitation practices are always followed.
- Interacts with production belt systems to maintain efficient operation.
- Cleans production lines, work areas, or other areas of the facility to maintain strict sanitation standards.
- High school graduate degree or GED equivalent.
- Order picking, production, or warehouse environment experience.
- Certification to operate motorized pallet jack and forklift a plus.
