Patient Care Technician (PCT) - Multi Specialty Telemetry Unit (MSTU)
Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician to support the multi specialty telemetry unit. The successful candidate will provide basic patient care under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, sanitize and maintain patient rooms, monitor vital signs, and assist with feeding and grooming.
Unit & Shifts- Unit: MSTU
- Shifts:
2(12's), 7PM - 7AM – 24 hours weekly (not weekend only)
- Provide basic patient care including vital sign measurement, personal care and hygiene, and assist with mobility.
- Act as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and concerns.
- Deliver high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and employees.
- Provide accurate, precise, and timely documentation of patient care.
- Participate in hand‑off and report pertinent information regarding patient and departmental needs upon arrival and departure.
- Perform delegated tasks once competency has been validated.
- Mobilize patients using therapeutic transfer techniques that foster independence and safety.
- Encourage patients to complete tasks independently whenever possible.
- Individualize care based on patient interests and hobbies.
- BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire; must obtain prior to direct patient care).
- Must have completed one of the following: successful completion of nursing aide training program, successful passing of STNA State Tested Nurse Aide (required if OH LTC), CNA Certified Nurse Aide, or nurses aide state testing. Alternatively, completed a nursing program that had one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation or 1 year of relevant experience in a clinical setting.
- Recent experience in acute care, physician office, home health/hospice, or long‑term care facility (preferred but not required).
- Possesses problem‑solving skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner.
- Ability to be proactive in a rapidly changing environment.
EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training (preferred).
