Overview
MRI Technologist - Memorial Regional Medical Center role at Bon Secours Mercy Health. The MRI Tech is responsible for daily modality operations and performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) according to established protocols. Works closely under the direction of the Radiologist and other physicians.
Responsibilities- Knowledge in workflows, procedures, operation, and processes of the MRI imaging modalities.
- Apply principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patient, self, and others.
- Confirm the quality and accuracy of all pertinent patient and procedural data.
- Select proper MRI pulse sequences and scan parameters according to established protocols.
- Contribute to the training and education of new staff and assist in oversight of MRI students.
- Provide direct patient care and instructions before, during, and after procedure.
- Perform IV injections and administer magnetic contrast agents specific to procedure.
- Troubleshoot equipment during malfunction in absence of service engineer and report malfunction to radiology maintenance/supervisor.
- Associate's from an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) accredited institute (preferred)
- Certification and Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Diagnostic Radiology with Advanced MRI Registry (MR) (required, or must within one year of hire)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, required prior to direct patient care)
- 1 year of experience in MRI department in hospital setting (preferred)
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
- Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) (preferred)
