As a Patient Registration Representative, you will be the welcoming face and primary point of contact for our patients, ensuring a seamless experience from arrival to registration.
Key responsibilities include:
- Accurately entering patient demographics and insurance details into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Registering walk in and telemedicine patients
- Greeting patients warmly, providing assistance, and answering any preliminary questions
- Verifying insurance eligibility and collecting co-pays or balances due at the time of registration
- Reconciling payments at the end of each shift and addressing any accounts past due
- Managing incoming phone calls, directing them appropriately, and offering helpful information as needed
- Interpreting and explaining billing statements clearly to patients
- Posting incoming Accounts Receivable payments accurately
- Supporting daily operational tasks, including opening and closing the building and organizing the workspace.
- Faxing or emailing lab results to designated parties in a timely manner
- Requesting credit card pre-authorizations and setting up installment payment plans as necessary
- Promoting a positive, respectful environment with both patients and peers
- Ensuring a clean, organized work environment, including tidying up the staff lounge and work area at the end of each shift
- Reporting any patient complaints promptly to the office manager
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is a plus
- Excellent phone and in-person communication skills
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal abilities
- Must be able to work full shifts
- Working knowledge of HIPPA Laws
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- One year of experience in patient registration or health insurance is preferred
Hours of Operation:
- Monday-Thursday: 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM
- Friday: 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM
- Saturday & Sunday: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
