As the Local Product Manager, you will work closely with local sales managers and global product teams to drive the long-term profitable growth of the traction division's product portfolio inthe US. A very good understanding of power electronic systems together with domain and marketknow-howare essential to be successful in this role and toleveragethe full potential of the product to successfully meet customer needs
The work model for the role is:
Hybrid in Mechanicsville, VA, supporting our Motion Traction Division.
- Evaluate customer requirementsanddefine theoptimaltechnicalsolutionas well as scope.
- Accountable for customer acquisition and order intake together with the sales and global product management team.
- Proper hand-over of won projects to engineering,maintainingownership of the proposed technicalsolutionand coststhroughout the projectphase.
- Superiorcustomerexperience:
Build, foster and sustaintrustfulrelationships with customers and provide high quality&timelytechnical support consistently. - Systematically followandsummarizekey market information, market trends, technicaldevelopmentsand solutions on the market.
Identifying potential gaps inABBportfolio both against competition and new market opportunities. - Consolidatecustomer needs andidentifyproductimprovementsin close cooperation with global product management and R&D
- Definetheproductscustomer value proposition(for the target segment or application), ensureclearpositioningof theportfolioand support marketingcommunication activities. (Technical presentations, webinars, trade journal publications,social selling etc.).

Qualifications for the role:- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 8+ years of experience in an industrial environmentcovering roles in engineering, R&D and technical sales with a preference for experience in more than one area OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 6+ years of experience in an industrial environmentcovering roles in engineering, R&D and technical sales with a preference for experience in more than one area.
- Solid knowledge of power electronics, variable frequencydrivesand related drive sub-systems (e.g.,tractionmotor,traction transformer,traction batteries, TCMS) are necessarywith experience in the railway and/or e-Mobility sectorsbeing astrong advantage.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills in English.
- Have good networking skills, ability to lead by influence with a collaborative and solution-focused approach.
- Skilled in managing complex customer relationships and effectively resolving escalations.
- Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
- This role requires regular travel in the United States and occasional travel internationally. A valid US Driver's License and US Passport are required for this role.
