Job Summary
Set‑Up Technician II is responsible for maintaining optimal daily performance, efficiency, and repeatability of Thermoformer and Extruder machinery used in the thermoforming manufacturing process. The role performs accurate and efficient mold set‑ups and start‑ups to ensure high machine utilization, consistent part quality, and production output. The position also supports packing, shrink‑wrapping, and assembly activities as required.
Key Responsibilities Machine Set‑Up & Process Control- Perform all duties of Set‑Up Technician I.
- Complete accurate mold set‑ups and start‑ups for thermoforming and extrusion equipment.
- Monitor mechanical systems to ensure proper machine operation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve processing and equipment issues in a timely manner.
- Monitor scrap levels and adjust processes to meet departmental KPIs.
- Manage material systems and coordinate silo changes.
- Execute daily production plans based on established priorities and schedules.
- Monitor part quality throughout production.
- Complete First Article inspections and documentation.
- Accurately complete daily system transactions in AS400 and Mattec systems.
- Follow all department quality standards and immediately report concerns to management.
- Coordinate activities with other departments to achieve production and quality goals.
- Train employees on job functions as needed.
- Learn responsibilities of Process Technician II to support future growth opportunities.
- Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE (including hairnet), and attend safety meetings.
- Report unsafe or hazardous conditions immediately.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards within the work area.

Required Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in plastic injection/molds.
- High level machine operator role.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accurate and efficient mold set‑ups and start‑ups to maintain high machine output.
- Experience with packing, shrink wrapping, and assembly activities.
- Ability to understand documented run parameters for new and existing molds and materials.
- Technical aptitude with the ability to learn processing and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic mechanical and process knowledge in a manufacturing environment.
- 1+ year of related manufacturing or machine set‑up experience.
- Prior experience in thermoforming or extrusion environments.
