1st Shift Welder

Shift and Position Summary

Shift: Monday–Thursday 6:00 am – 4:30 pm. Fridays are often used to catch up on work and may be mandatory to work. If so, a 48-hour notice will be given, but shorter notice may be given for volunteer work hours. The schedule varies on Friday.

Position Summary: To weld and fabricate parts in accordance with specifications and per company workmanship standards by performing the following functions.

• Perform efficient welding of various metal objects, including heavy and light gauge carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless, using both MIG and TIG equipment
• Analyze blueprints/drawings, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
• Set up, troubleshoot, and adjust equipment
• Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers
• Report all non-conforming material to the Welding Team Leader and/or Shop Foreman immediately
• Input and maintain data in ERP computer system/Global

• Maintain excellent attendance and possess the flexibility to work overtime
• HS education with a minimum of 2 years welding experience
• Possess a solid understanding of welding equipment and tooling
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, welding process specifications, and welding symbols
• Must be able to operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments
• Must have the ability to weld in all positions with good penetration and quality
• Must be able to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level, square, and use a variety of power tools
• Work independently and follow direction
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Basic computer skills

A welding test will be administered as part of the application process.
