Position Summary

This position performs measurement system development and provides metrology of various molded components, extruded tubes, etc., for development/validation activities. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a team‑oriented, fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical direction to Metrology Department personnel in inspection, production support, and process validation activities.
  • Support engineering teams through sample measurements, MSD/MSA, drawing reviews & validation planning.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures for the metrology department.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering for the design and manufacture of fixturing.
  • Help in establishing and updating a cost model for metrology.
  • Understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and train other team members as necessary.
  • Measurement system development and analysis (MSD, MSA, Gage R&R, etc.).
  • Operate and write routines for automated optical measurement equipment.
  • Operate and write routines for coordinate measurement machines (CMM).
  • Operate mechanical measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauge pins, etc.).
  • Stay abreast of developments in measurement technology and recommend equipment to expand capacity and capability.
  • Organize activities in the measurement lab to meet production and project schedules.
  • Proficiency in personal computer software (Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to work and provide direction to team members.
  • Effective communication skills (written/verbal).
  • Ability to integrate written and verbal instructions.
  • Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent job‑related experience.
  • 5 years of inspection experience, specifically using coordinate measuring equipment.
  • Experience with Minitab and Solidworks preferred.
