Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Meadville, Pennsylvania. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, including debit and credit transactions, as well as experience with accounts payable and receivable. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing financial operations and ensuring accurate reporting.

Responsibilities:

- Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.

- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain an organized and up-to-date general ledger.

- Monitor and reconcile financial accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

- Generate and review invoices while maintaining proper documentation.

- Collaborate with other accounting team members to support financial reporting tasks.

- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports.

- Ensure adherence to accounting standards and procedures in all financial activities.

- Provide support for audits and other financial reviews as needed.

Requirements - Proven experience in accounting roles, with a focus on corporate tax and sales tax.

- Strong knowledge of debit and credit transactions, invoicing, and general ledger accounting.

- Proficiency with accounting software and tools.

- Ability to prepare accurate journal entries and financial reports.

- Familiarity with corporate tax returns and compliance processes.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Strong communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
