Location: McPherson, KS Shift:
- Typical working hours: 6:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday
- Overtime hours may be available or required according to business needs
- Looking for saw operators, press brake operators, laser and plasma operators
- Transform raw materials into precision-engineered components
- Set up and operate specialized machinery
- Perform administrative tasks such as accurate time tracking and material requisition
- Maintain a safe, organized work environment
- Report to the Production Supervisor and Plant Manager
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience: 3-5 years in custom build shop preferred
- Technical Skills:
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Operate a computer to read and input data
- Operate hand tools and read measuring devices
- Read and interpret 3D prints/schematics
- Behavioral Attributes:
- Effective communication with team members and management
- Accountability for results
- Mechanical aptitude
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Set-up machines
- Locate and identify material for use on the job
- Complete material requisitions
- Produce completed parts to quality standards
- Enter time and labor reporting daily
- Handle materials, tools, and equipment manually or with jib crane
- Layout, cut, and fit parts for welding
- Fabricate new metal components
- Solve problems and develop innovative solutions
- Maintain tools and equipment to a professional standard
- Coordinate workflow with team members and third-party agents
- Maintain high quality standards
- Manage workflow and meet deadlines
- Employ physical strength and endurance
- Perform additional duties as necessary
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations
- Maintain departmental housekeeping standards
- Fabricate small components
- Complete production and quality assurance forms
- Participate in team meetings and discussions
- Interface with engineering to communicate information
- Participate in continuous improvement activities
- Adhere to Quality Management System Requirements
- Follow and maintain 5S activities
- Read and comprehend procedures written in English
- Ability to stand for approximately 10 hours per day
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs
- Frequent standing and repetitive use of hands
- Occasional bending, climbing, reaching, kneeling, and pushing/pulling
