Visual Inspection Senior Production Operator

As a member of Pfizer Global Supply, you will help ensure that patients and physicians have the medicines they need when they need them by manufacturing high-quality pharmaceutical products.

What You Will Achieve
  • Take responsibility for individual contributions to achieve team deliverables, working effectively as a team member and coordinating with others.

  • Follow standard procedures to complete tasks of varying scope, sequence, and complexity within agreed time frames.
  • Identify and solve moderately routine problems.
  • Complete assignments with moderate supervision using established procedures, referring deviations to the supervisor.
  • Ensure work is reviewed for accuracy, quality, and adherence to standards.
  • Prepare and operate various components, materials, equipment, and machines in your assigned area, ensuring adequate inventory of parts and materials before starting a production run.
  • Adhere strictly to all plant safety and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) regulations.
  • Perform in-process quality inspections and seek to implement process and safety improvements.
Role Responsibilities
  • Self‑motivated with ability to work in a team environment and independently.
  • Work in a clean manufacturing environment, wearing required garments and demonstrating gown/de‑gown proficiency.
  • Operate production equipment, performing machine set‑up, repairs, adjustments, changeovers, emergency repair/replacement, and preventive maintenance per procedures.
  • Interpret data from computerized control systems and displays.
  • Manage equipment efficiency, downtime, and scrap rate.
  • Adhere to safety requirements (PPE, LOTO, etc.) and process steps (SOP, Batch Records).
  • Communicate repair recommendations and action plans to supervisors.
  • Report safety and/or quality issues to management.
  • Communicate with team members and management to achieve production deliverables and schedule adherence.
  • Support Integrated Manufacturing Excellence (IMEx) activities such as Continuous Improvement, Standard Work, and Total Productive Maintenance, including tracking metrics.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent).
  • Problem‑solving mindset.
  • Mechanical skills to perform machine set‑up, repairs, and adjustments to keep equipment operating efficiently.
  • Proficiency with standard maintenance tools and equipment: basic hand and power tools, multimeters, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and perform duties described in operating procedures, product batch records, vendor manuals, P&, schematics, drawings, etc.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience in a cGMP environment.
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing software and tools.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Basic understanding of common AI tools and curiosity to learn how they can improve productivity.
  • Relevant pharmaceutical experience.
  • Technical school / Auto Mechanic Program Certificate and/or industrial maintenance/repair experience.
Physical/Mental Requirements
  • Stand 8–12 hours per shift, sit 2–4 hours per shift, use computer terminal ~1 hour per shift.
  • Change into required garments (scrubs, shoes, PPE, safety glasses) 2–3 times per shift.
  • Work around moving/rotating equipment, chemicals, in a hearing‑conservation area, on knees or in a non‑standing position occasionally for repairs; requires physical activity for equipment repair, adjustment, and operation.
  • Respond to visual/audible warning and alarm indicators; respond to color or other visual indicators.
  • Walk on floors/catwalks, climb stairs/ladders.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Schedule & Environment
  • 24×7 operations with a rotating 12‑hour shift schedule; alternating weekends and holidays per A/B shift schedule.
  • Typical start/end time: 6 am – 6 pm (day shift).
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • No travel required.
  • Work Location Assignment:
    On Premise.
