This Controller position offers the opportunity to direct financial planning and accounting practices at a corporate level in a dynamic, growth-focused organization headquartered in Central Kansas.
Responsibilities- Oversee all accounting, audit, and tax activities for the corporation, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
- Analyze, consolidate, and direct accounting procedures to maintain effective records and adequate controls.
- Appraise the company's financial position and prepare periodic reports on financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
- Coordinate budgeting processes, including the collection, reporting, and analysis of budget versus actual results.
- Manage the preparation and timely submission of tax reporting information to external advisors.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and manage accurate performance reporting to parent company headquarters.
- Maintain relationships with financial institutions and oversee banking, disbursement, and fund custody procedures.
- Design and implement new operating procedures to enhance controls, efficiency, and cost management.
- BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance, with at least 10 years of experience—preferably in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Expertise in financial reporting, auditing, and tax activities within a corporate setting.
- Strong operational knowledge of manufacturing cost ERP systems.
- Advanced proficiency in GAAP and financial analysis.
- Advanced MS Excel skills and hands‑on experience with MRP/ERP systems.
- Proven ability to lead teams, delegate responsibilities, and manage accounting processes.
- Understanding of international accounting standards.
- Experience with AS400 or similar legacy systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication capabilities.
- Ability to travel on occasion as needed.
