Yamhill County has one regular full-time position for a Psychiatric Registered Nurse 2 to provide nursing services for Community Support Services – Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) and Early Assessment Support Alliance (EASA) programs. The person in this position may provide both general and special nursing services for individuals with serious mental illness emphasizing medication administration and monitoring, medication skills training, medical case management, health prevention and promotion, working with pharmacies, setting up accounts for free medication services, giving injections, and tracking, documenting, and coordinating with physicians as needed.

Duties and responsibilities of this position will primarily be carried out in the community and involve work with evidence-based models including EASA and ACT.

The Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a registered nurse.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and possession of a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Oregon.
  • A bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
  • Any satisfactory combination of experience and training which ensures the ability to perform the work may substitute for the above.
The Candidate

The successful candidates must have a working knowledge of techniques specifically related to community mental health services and the following abilities: to understand the behavior of people under stress; to develop and maintain effective cooperative relationships with clients and their families, the community, physicians, and public and private administrators; to interpret community mental health and chemical dependency services, and to prepare concise and complete client treatment and progress records.

Typing and computer proficiency are required for collaborative documentation. Additionally, the successful candidates will have excellent communication skills, and will be dependable, organized, self-directed, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to work in a team environment and to interact with co-workers, clients, and the public in a courteous, professional manner.
