The Plant Sales Manager is responsible for the strategic and profitable management of the plant’s sales department. The role oversees day‑to‑day operations, develops and executes sales strategies, and ensures sales targets are met or exceeded. The manager serves as a key advisor to the Plant General Manager on all marketing, sales activities and participates in daily Sales and Operations Planning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Strategic Planning:
Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and manage the plant’s marketing and sales objectives. - Sales Execution:
Develop and implement effective sales plans to ensure products are available in the right locations and markets to achieve sales and market share goals. - Team Leadership:
Foster a “We are Fun and Easy to do Business With” mindset within the sales department, promoting a positive, client‑focused culture. - Training & Development:
Plan, coordinate, and lead comprehensive in‑plant and in‑field sales training for the distribution network. - Market Analysis:
Conduct regular market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and trends. - Budget Management:
Maintain tight cost controls to ensure the sales department operates efficiently within its allocated budget. - Promotional
Activities:
Plan and promote participation in regional trade shows and local factory events as needed.
- Full‑cycle talent management, including interviewing, hiring, and training new employees.
- Performance management, including planning, directing work, appraising performance, and providing feedback.
- Employee relations, addressing complaints and resolving issues in accordance with corporate policies and applicable laws.
- Experience:
Prior supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment; previous sales experience in manufactured or modular housing is a significant asset. - Technical
Skills:
Working knowledge of CRM such as Salesforce and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. - Travel:
Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Skills:
Strong communication skills for external customer engagement and internal collaboration across departments. - Work Ethic:
