- Education:
Associate's degree and/or Baccalaureate degree. - License:
Current Radiation Operator in the state of Oregon and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology. - Certification: BLS.
- Reviews patient history and physicians' orders.
- Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
- Monitors patient condition continuously and reports/responds to status changes as appropriate.
- Prepares equipment and supplies, selects exposure factors, implements safety standards, performs quality control, and troubleshoots equipment malfunctions.
- Positions patients and performs imaging procedures.
- Analyzes results and identifies quality issues; takes appropriate action to resolve them, including repositioning and repeat procedures.
- Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.
