All-Domain Operations (ADO) is a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. It comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations.

Summary

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a highly experienced Maritime Logistics Specialist with deep, career-long experience supporting naval and maritime logistics operations. The ideal candidate brings extensive hands‑on expertise across vessel sustainment, port operations, maritime supply chain integration, and acquisition support, and is capable of serving as a senior logistics advisor within complex operational environments.

This role is intended for a seasoned professional who has spent the majority of their career in maritime or naval logistics and can apply that experience to guide planning, execution, problem‑solving, and process improvement efforts. The Maritime Logistics Specialist supports program leadership by providing authoritative insight into maritime logistics challenges, cost drivers, risk areas, and optimization opportunities. Individuals should be comfortable operating independently with minimal oversight, advising stakeholders, mentoring junior staff as appropriate, and contributing to logistics decision‑making in dynamic and time‑sensitive environments.

This is a part‑time role and hours will be determined based on work requirements.

What You Will Do
  • Provide senior‑level support to vessel sustainment activities in port and in support of sea‑based operations, including coordination of port services, material delivery, and maintenance logistics.
  • Advise leadership on sourcing, resourcing, and sustainment strategies using a combination of commercial maritime vendors and military supply systems.
  • Serve as a senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) for maritime logistics, providing authoritative input on vessel support requirements, port operations, inventory procedures, and logistics feasibility.
  • Analyze maritime transportation costs, supply chain performance, and port delivery procedures to identify efficiencies, cost avoidance opportunities, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct or guide market research in support of maritime procurement efforts, including commercial off‑the‑shelf (COTS) equipment and services.
  • Prepare or review documentation for international maritime shipping in accordance with internal import/export procedures, including ITAR‑controlled material when applicable.
  • Coordinate vessel movement schedules, port calls, and maritime shipping requests in support of operational timelines.
  • Conduct maritime property inventories and prepare inventory and accountability reports as part of periodic and quarterly deliverables.
  • Develop, validate, or refine logistics models and analytical tools related to port operations, vessel demand forecasting, or cost estimation.
  • Draft, revise, or validate standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maritime logistics processes, emphasizing compliance, repeatability, and efficiency.
  • Identify and recommend innovative solutions to complex maritime logistics challenges based on professional judgment and prior operational experience.
  • Support coordination with strategic maritime partners, vendors, and stakeholders to enable mission execution.
  • This part‑time position requires occasional travel.
What We Are Looking For
  • 15+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13+ years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19+ years relevant experience.
  • 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in maritime, naval, or logistics operations.
  • Demonstrated career‑long experience supporting vessel sustainment, port operations, maritime supply chains, and logistics coordination.
  • Proven ability to operate as a senior logistics practitioner…
