The Aireon Internship Program is an opportunity for students to be a part of the Aireon teams that are making groundbreaking advancements in global air traffic surveillance. As an intern, you’ll begin making an impact on real projects from day one! Come prepared to grow, develop, and learn alongside a team and the leaders of our company. The Aireon Internship program is an 11-week program that runs from May 18, 2026 to July 31, 2026.

During the program, interns will have the opportunity to provide valuable support to an Aireon department on a project or important work assignment. Interns will also be provided an opportunity to engage with senior leadership and fellow interns through regular engagement activities.

The Software Engineering Intern will support the Product Engineering Team in developing and refining tools to optimize internal procedures for our "Product Machine" process. The intern will learn the software development process, including Azure Dev Ops, the workflow from high-level requirements through testing and deployment, and the development of supporting documentation. The intern may also engage and learn in several other areas that support product development, including data analysis, prototype and mockup development, customer interactions, managing and validating all of our CI/CD Pipelines for code quality.

• Verify all Repos and Pipelines are using the Sonar Qube Code Quality scanner and organize the Project and Portfolios in Sonar Qube
• Create and review work items for developers, refining them so they are ready for development
• Participate in daily scrum meetings
• Update controlled documents and submit new versions for approval
• Help manage development backlogs
• Perform data analysis

• Use of software collaboration and development tools such as Azure Dev Ops
• Agile scrum methodology for software development
• Requirements gathering process
• Documentation of software requirements, design, management, process, etc.
• How software development can be fun

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
• Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's or graduate degree program at an accredited academic institution
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
• Some experience with Python programming and some example/sample projects

• Software engineering technical background
• API modeling and architecture knowledge
• Microsoft Office products, including Teams
• Python, HTML, APIs, SQL, Java script, Oracle APEX
