Sr. Software Developer - Python | Financial Accounting & Capital Markets

Location: Full-time On-site (McLean, VA)

Contract Type: Contract Only

Scheduled End Date: June 30, 2026 (possible extension to EOY)

Work Authorization: Open to sponsored candidates through sub-vendors (one layer deep) – candidates must be W2 employees of the sub-vendor.

Position Overview

Investments & Capital Markets division is seeking a Sr. Software Developer to join their team and assist with the development of mission‑critical financial engineering applications. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and support both customer‑facing and internal applications and services, ensuring best practices are followed throughout the software development lifecycle. This position requires experience in Python and Java
, as well as a solid background in fixed income finance, financial accounting, and capital markets
.

• Design, develop, test, and support financial engineering applications and services.
• Fix defects and address technical debt to ensure adherence to best software development practices.
• Write clean, high-quality code with automated unit and integration tests ensuring full coverage.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on various layers of infrastructure.
• Assist with infrastructure upgrades and the adoption of new technologies.

Must-Have

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in OOP design and coding (Python, Java - backend focused with Python).
• Strong background in fixed income finance

  , and capital markets

• Expertise in SQL with multiple leading database solutions.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
  .
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Interview Process:

• Rounds: 2 Rounds
• Duration: 30 minutes for 1st round (virtual, video mandatory), 120 minutes for 2nd round (on‑site required).
